Train travel deals in Europe

Take advantage of these train travel deals if you’re visiting Europe for winter break or a spring trip.

Rail Europe is offering 20 percent off their BritRail pass for travel in Great Britain from Nov. 1, 2008 to Feb. 28, 2009. You get unlimited travel, including Thames link trains and transportation from Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted airports to London, with their Consecutive and Flexi Passes.

For spring, you can get free extra days on a Eurail Global Pass if you buy your ticket before Nov. 30. You’ll actually get 21 days of travel when you buy a 15-day pass, or one month of travel when you buy a 21-day pass. Travel can start from March 1, but must be completed by May 31, 2009.

With the Eurail Global Pass, you get unlimited travel on the entire rail networks of: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal,Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
