Local Skiing

If you’re a ski or snowboard bum and are ready to get the season started, there’s several places within a half an hour of Syracuse.

Song Mountain is half an hour away from Syracuse in Tully, NY. They have 24 trails, two lifts, and three J-bars. Take I-81 South, and you can see the resort from the expressway.

Another resort a little more than half an hour of Syracuse is Labrador Mountain in Truxton, NY. They have 22 trails and slopes. Right now, Labrador is Scheduled to open for the season on Friday, November 28, 2008.

Another resort a little more than a half an hour away is Toggenburg Mountain in Fabius, NY. They have 24 Trails and five lifts.

A bigger ski resort that’s a little further is Greek Peak in Cortland, NY. It’s about 45 minutes to one hour away. They have 31 trails and slopes and four trails. Greek Peak is Open!

In a future post, we will have more ski resorts around New York State, including Holiday Valley, Gore Mountain, and Whiteface.

  1. we’re here out on the west coast. when you get a chance you have to ski Whistler or here in the city (vancouver) you have to try Cypress Mountain. The only mountain I’ve skied in the East is Mont Tremblant.
